Privacy Policy
Warmind ("Warmind", "we", "us") is an army-list builder and battle companion for tabletop wargames. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the control you have over it. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run your account and sync your rosters.
Information we collect
- Account details. When you create an account with email, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, Apple, or Discord, we receive and store the email address and basic profile name that provider shares with us, and nothing else.
- Profile. A display name and username you choose in the app.
- Your content. The army rosters you create. If you are signed in, these are synced to our servers so you can reach them from any device. If you use the app signed out, your rosters stay only on your device.
- Operational data. Standard security and authentication records (for example, sign-in tokens and basic server logs) needed to keep the service working and secure.
- Anonymous usage measurement. So we can tell whether Warmind is working and what people actually use, the app records how often it is opened, roughly how long it is open, which platform and app version it is running, your device's timezone and language, how many rosters and battles you have, and which features get used. This is tied to a random identifier the app generates on your device — not to your name, your email, or your IP address. It does not identify you, and clearing the app's data (or reinstalling) permanently discards that identifier and starts a new one.
- Game results and army lists. When you finish a game in Battle Mode, the result — factions, detachments, missions, scores — and the army lists that were played are added to Warmind's public game statistics, so players can see what the meta looks like. Casual games are always anonymous: no name is stored on them at all. Names appear only on games played in organized events (tournaments and leagues), where the results are already public on the event's own bracket. A published list is stored without any link to you, and it stays part of that game's record — deleting the roster it came from, or deleting your account, does not remove it, in the same way that neither un-plays the game. It is anonymous either way.
What we do not do. Warmind contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs. The usage measurement described above is our own, is anonymous, and never leaves our servers. We do not build advertising profiles, we do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your personal information.
How we use your information
- To create and secure your account and sign you in.
- To store and sync the rosters you create across your devices.
- To send you essential account emails, such as verification codes and password resets.
- To keep the service reliable and protect it from abuse.
- To understand how Warmind is used in aggregate, so we know what to build and fix next.
- To publish anonymous game statistics and army lists that any player can browse.
Service providers
We use a small number of trusted processors that handle data on our behalf:
- Supabase: hosts our database and authentication, and stores your account and rosters.
- Resend: delivers our transactional emails (verification and password-reset codes).
- Google, Apple, Discord: used only if you choose to sign in with one of them. They authenticate you and return your email and basic profile name.
We do not share your information with anyone else except where required by law.
Data retention & deletion
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. You can delete it at any time:
- In the app: open Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your rosters, profile, and login credentials from our servers.
- By email: write to [email protected] from your account email address.
Full details are on our Data Deletion page.
How long specific things are kept:
- A roster you delete — the list itself is erased from our servers straight away. A marker holding only its identifier and the time it was deleted remains for 60 days, so that your other devices learn about the deletion the next time they sync, and is then removed too.
- Anonymous usage measurement — individual sessions are kept for 180 days and individual feature events for 90 days, then deleted automatically. Only per-install totals are kept beyond that.
- Published game results and army lists — kept indefinitely as part of the public statistics, with no link to you. See the note above.
Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Access to your rosters and profile is protected by row-level security so that you can only read and write your own data.
Children
Warmind is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can exercise most of these directly in the app, or contact us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
